4 Tips on How to Become a LinkedIn Influencer
Viveka holds the handle @LinkedInExpert, so she shows up near the top when people search for LinkedIn experts. It certainly helps with search engine optimization to brand yourself with something similar, but relevant to your industry.
When you’re trying to build your reputation as an expert on LinkedIn apply these tips:
- Develop a credible profile that reflects your area of expertise. You can portray your knowledge by customizing your background image, LinkedIn headline, tweaking your experience sections, and uploading relevant media that positions you as an expert.
- “Share content that positions you as an expert.” Viveka recommends identifying the format you are most comfortable with and creating lots of content. You can produce LinkedIn articles, long-form posts, or native video.
- “Build a community of like-minded experts.” Identify people in your field that are already recognized as experts and connect with them. Share their content, tag them, and build on the connection to align yourself as an authority. If you cultivate a relationship with them, they may even start to share your content too.
- Identify and connect to writers at publications relevant to your niche. By building relationships with writers, they may think of you when they need a quote around your expertise.
