Sebastian Rusk: Host Social Buzz TV
In this episode recorded on location at Social Fresh East 2014, I interviewed Sebastian Rusk, creator and host of Social Buzz TV. We discussed the growing phenomenon known as employee advocacy.
Social Media Policy Fuels Advocacy
Loyal employees understand the value of being socially active on behalf of their employer. However, a divide has existed between the brand (the employer) and the employee, whose reluctance to advocate for their employer was largely motivated by fear….Fear of getting fired. When an organization begins their social media strategy internally by empowering employees, their social media interaction externally is magnified. A valid social media policy let’s the employees know the limitations, the guidelines and how to engage online effectively.
Social Business Outcomes
One of the most compelling (and measurable) outcomes of a social business strategy is community building. When a brand can build communities across multiple platforms, the brand has a stronger potential of developing loyal customers by being the go to source in your niche. When a community is built, the brand becomes a story. The members of the community make an emotional connection.
